SSGC AA Medical & Healthcare Chapter – An Evening with SSGC Principal Ms Chau

On 14th October, members of the St. Stephen’s Girls’ College Alumnae Association Medical & Healthcare Chapter enjoyed a unique occasion to meet with SSGC Principal Ms Maggie Chau and SSGC Fundraising Committee Co-Chairperson Ms Mildred Law.

The evening began with a guided tour of our historical SSGC June Li Building. Ms Chau took us for a walk down the memory lane as we reminisced over our school days. We were shown classrooms, staff rooms and bathrooms that appeared alarmingly similar to how they looked back in our days! On the contrary, Ms Chau also presented us rooms that have been recently upgraded and modernised through the utilization of fresh funds raised from the Fundraising Campaign; we were amazed by the significant transformation and enhancement of the campus.

Following the tour, we heard first hand about SSGC’s current needs and developments from Ms Chau and Ms Law. We learned about SSGC’s strategic plans in pursuing continuous growth and sustainable development. The need for resources is not only immense but also imminent, as the School continues to improve the learning environment, broaden and diversify the curriculum, enhance both student and teacher professional development, as well as repair and maintain the June Li Building – a Declared monument.

By the end of the evening, we were even more convinced that SSGC’s goal of nurturing future leaders requires the efforts and commitments of many. Having benefitted from the first-class education SSGC provided in the past, we look forward to witnessing this tradition to carry on from generations to generations.
